After a long absence, I return to publishing “Language and Logic” and “The Free Market Center Journal.”
Synopsis
I apologize to my faithful subscribers for waiting patiently during a Thanksgiving break that I extended for nearly three months. I will keep this publication short.
I will, for the foreseeable future, focus “Language and Logic” and “The Journal” on money and banking. I hope to make what seems like a boring topic interesting and engaging. I will ask you to turn your attention to all the things in your life that money influences.
I have no specific schedule for my publications, but I plan to publish at least weekly.
Introduction
You can find a great many commentators on the subject of money and banking. Some of them provide reasonably good information. Some make statements that will either mislead or confuse you. Still, others make demonstrably false statements.
I hope to make money interesting by paying attention to all the things for which you can exchange money. To do that, I will, on occasion, need to get a little “wonky,” but the subject plays such an important role in your life a little deeper understanding merits the time spent.
Please don’t take what I write in these future publications as the absolute final word. Just consider that I have spent over 60 years studying money from one perspective or another. I may have something to contribute to your thinking.
In future publications, I will offer an in-depth annotated definition of money. I will make some definitive (and maybe controversial) statements about money. That definition and the statements will lay the groundwork for many future publications.
To get you started, I ask that you spend 1 to 5 minutes pondering all the possessions you might not have without money.
I look forward to a great many future publications.
Later,
Jim
